GOING TO THE COUNTRY MALL .... A FRIDAY NIGHT TRADITION

  I was thinking about what I used to do as a kid and the things I looked forward to.  I can't help but to remember our trips to the Mall.  It was not really called a Mall back then (40 - 50 years ago) , but looking back, we had everything that we needed in one stop.   KINGS CROSSING STORE   This was a Country store that we visited every Friday evening.   You could buy whatever you needed,  It was really a COUNTRY MALL. A Father's Day Gift. What Does Your Gift Say About You??

Next week, we will be celebrating Father's Day to give thanks and honor our fathers or father figures.  How did this individual influence you in your life?  What should I get him? When we were younger, we got a gift for our father which we thought they would like.   What we didn't know was our father would love ANYTHING we gave him.  So, we gave him a necktie and he gives us hug.. so the next year we think.. He likes neckties... and so the story goes... As we get older, we need to take time to get to know the individual that we call "Dad"...

Nostalgia... What do we really miss?

As I am getting older, I look back at my life and remember the days past.  A smile comes across my face.  Nostalgia... what do I really miss from all those years ago?   A lot of my great memories are based around my grandparents.  My grandparents names were Mamaw and Pop.   Here are a few of those memories......  Homemade bread coming fresh out of Mamaw's oven. Butter or Lard spread over the top while it was hot.  We never thought a thing about cholesterol. Helping Mamaw hang her clothes on the line and some of the stories she use to tell me. ...
